Question 1

Can a complete beginner learn guitar online?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Online guitar lessons work wonderfully for complete beginners. Our instructors use multi-camera angles to show fingerings, frets, and strumming patterns clearly in real time.

Question 2

What age is best to start guitar lessons?

Accepted Answer

Most children are ready for guitar around ages 7 or 8 when their hand size and finger strength allow them to press down strings comfortably. Younger children often start on ukulele first.

Question 3

Should a beginner start with acoustic or electric guitar?

Accepted Answer

Either is fine! Acoustic guitars are portable and self-contained, while electric guitars have slightly thinner strings that can be easier on beginner fingers. Pick whichever sound inspires you most.

Question 4

What size guitar does a child need?

Accepted Answer

Children ages 7–10 usually benefit from a 1/2 or 3/4 size acoustic or electric guitar. Playing an appropriately sized guitar prevents hand strain and encourages proper form.

Question 5

Does a student need to know how to read music?

Accepted Answer

No. You do not need to read traditional sheet music to start guitar. We teach using guitar chord charts, guitar tablature (TAB), and ear training alongside foundational music theory.

Question 6

Can students learn chords and songs right away?

Accepted Answer

Yes! In your very first lesson, you'll learn basic open chords and rhythm patterns so you can start playing real songs immediately.

Question 7

How often should a beginner practice guitar?

Accepted Answer

Consistent short practice sessions—such as 15 to 20 minutes a day, 4 or 5 days a week—are far better for muscle memory and finger calluses than one long session.

Question 8

Can students learn songwriting and music theory through guitar?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Guitar is a fantastic instrument for understanding chord progressions, key signatures, and songwriting structures. Instructors like Chris and Eric specialize in this.
